A record of looking

The digital version of hanami

Hanami Digital records transient observations of places, objects, light, and work without commercial intent or schedules.

Philosophy

Written when there is something to see

Named after hanami, the Japanese practice of gathering to observe blossoms that will not last, this archive treats web publishing as an ephemeral act. Pieces appear only when there is something observed in the street, on a desk, or through a window.

This is deliberately not a service, not a course, and not a marketing newsletter. There are no team photos, no client lists, and no metrics. The archive exists as an antidote to algorithmic urgency, inviting visitors to look at a single piece and quietly leave.

Transient light

We walked through the public garden before the gates locked. Nothing required an explanation.
